Celebrate Mother’s Day with Thoughtful Handmade Gifts

In the UK, Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, 15th March 2026. This date is different from the USA and many other countries. Today, people celebrate with flowers, gifts and family gatherings. However, the tradition has much deeper historical and religious roots.
Originally, it was called Mothering Sunday and was a significant religious event. People returned to their ‘mother’ church, the main church in their area. This tradition also gave families a chance to reunite. Many workers in domestic service were granted a rare day off. Because of this, they could visit home and spend time with their loved ones. Over time, the meaning of the day evolved. Now, it is a special occasion to honour and appreciate mothers everywhere. Discover more about its rich history and traditions here.
